Yes, ice makers and water dispensers are repaired on their own. Common causes are a frozen fill tube, a failed inlet valve, or a worn ejector motor, and none of them require touching the cooling system.

Water is leaking from the dispenser in the door. What is it?

Usually the dispenser valve or the water line inside the door, which can freeze and split. On French door models it is one of the more frequent faults, and it is repairable.

The freezer works but the fridge is warm. What causes that?

Almost always the evaporator fan or the defrost system. Cold air is made in the freezer and moved across, so a failed fan or an iced-over evaporator leaves one side cold and the other not.
